Strengthen your Connective Tissue While You Lose WeightReturn to Article LibraryOne of the most overlooked benefits to engaging in strength training while on a weight loss plan is the positive impact that training has on your connective tissues. "What are connective tissues?", you might ask. These are the tissue groups that literallly hold your body togther. Connective tissues come in the 3 following classifications: Cartilage Cartilage is the tissue that serves as a padding between bones at the joint. For instance, the "gristle' of a chicken's bones, which some people even like to chew, is cartilage as well, and it serves the exact same purpose that human cartilage does. Ligaments This tissue attaches your bones to your joints. A joint is, of course, any junction at which two or more bones meet. Tendons These connect actual muscle tissue to the bones. They play the primary role in trasmitting the force generated by contracting muscles to the bones so that they can do their part in helping you to manipulate your body. While following a strength training program in an effort to lose weight, these connective tissues are strengthened themselves over time. It is generally thought that the strengthening of these connective tissues over time plays a large role in the development of greater body srength. So, as you are working away towards your weight loss goals. Don't forget that your body is changed for the better in many more ways than just to lose weight. You are getting stronger and stronger throughout the entire mind and body and the end results will be more than worth your while. |
