Low Carb LiesReturn to Article LibraryThis very moment, millions of people throughout the civilized world are desparate trying to lose weight. And one of the biggest phenomenons in this modern weight loss movement is the "low carb" diet plan. They come in a variety of names and forms from the AtkinsTM diet, to the ZoneTM diet, to the South Beach DietTM, to the low carb menu at your friendly neighborhood fast food restaurant. They generally tend to promise fast, quick results, and many people have been delighted to be able to lose weight with these plans with no additional weight loss product or need for any weight loss supplement(s). Although these diets and those like them can be very effective and there is nothing inherently wrong with them, there are a few things that you should know if you are considering on participating any "low carb" diet plan or program. The first thing that you should know in your quest to lose weight is that you should be on guard against any person or program that advises you to cut your carbohydrates completely out. Carbohydrates form a very necessary part of the daily nutrition that the body needs to function properly. We especially need a comoplex carbohydrate such as oats, a bagel, or toast, early in the morning to get us going for the day. Throughout the rest of the day, it is actually just as effective and more healthy to eat different carbs as opposed to ignoring them altogether. Sticking to fruits, vegetables, and some yams will do the trick of helping you achieve weight loss without robbing your body of the nutrients that it needs. Also, watch out for other forms of extremism in some low carb programs. For instance, just because you are eating less carbohydrates doesn't mean that you should have a beef patty with bacon sandwich drenched in fatty ranch dressing If weight loss is your goal, much of what low carb diet plans can actually work in your advantage. Conversely, use some moderation and a lot of common sense in order to get the most of what they have to offer without ruining your own health. |
